STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association Competitive Balance Ad Hoc Committee held its fourth meeting on Wednesday at the WIAA organization's headquarters.
After receiving an update on recent committee-related communication work and efforts to be transparent and engage all members, the committee reviewed new feedback from the feedback form.
The committee spent most of its meeting time discussing what data the committee should use to analyze historical competitive balance. The committee used small and large groups to have an engaged and robust conversations. Members also began discussing their thoughts about competitive balance models used in other states. This topic will continue during the next committee meeting, which will take place virtually Thursday, Feb. 17.
The next in-person meeting will be conducted at the WIAA office Tuesday, March 1, 2022.
The membership of the WIAA oversees interscholastic athletic programs for 516 senior high schools and 45 junior high/middle level schools in its membership. It sponsors 27 championship Tournament Series for boys and girls in 2021-22.
