Former WIAA Athletes to Participate in Paris Paralympics

Two former WIAA multi-sport athletes are in Paris for the 2024 Paralympic Games. Nate Hinze, a Cedar Brove-Belgium graduate, will compete on Team USA's Mens Wheelchair Basketball team and Prairie du Chien alumni Joe Delagrave will serve as head coach for Team USA's Wheelchair Rugby team.
 

Nate Hinze | Cedar Grove Belgium - Class of 2006

  • Four-Sport High School Athlete: Football, Basketball, Baseball, Track & Field
  • Participating in his fourth Paralympics
  • 3x Paralympic Medalist: 2012 - London (bronze medal), 2016 - Rio de Janeiro (gold medal), 2020 - Tokyo (gold medal)
  • Current Assistant Principal at Port Washington High School
  • Served as Athletic Director in Ripon, Sheboygan and Port Washington school districts

      Mens Wheelchair Basketball Games:
        Thursday 8/29 at 6:30 a.m. vs Spain
        Saturday 8/31 at 6:30 a.m. vs Netherlands
        Sunday 9/1 at 4:30 a.m. vs Australia
        Tuesday 9/3 - Quarterfinals
        Thursday 9/5 - Semifinals
        Saturday 9/7 at 6:30 a.m. - Bronze Medal Game | 12:30 p.m. - Gold Medal Game

  • Head Coach of Team USA's Wheelchair Rugby team since 2021

  • Keynote speaker at the 2024 WIAA Scholar Athlete Awards

        Thursday 8/29 at 6:30 a.m. vs Canada
        Friday 8/30 at 6:30 a.m. vs Japan
        Saturday 8/31 at 4:30 a.m. vs Germany
        Sunday 9/1 at 6:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. - Semifinals
        Monday 9/2 at 6:30 a.m. - Bronze Medal Game | 12:30 p.m. - Gold Medal Game



Where to watch? Coverage of the Games is airing on NBC, Peacock, USA Network and CNBC. The "Gold Zone" program on Peacock will live-stream coverage Aug. 29 through Sept. 7 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
