Mayville @ St. Mary’s Springs

The Mayville High School football team showed exemplary sportsmanship in its conference showdown at St. Mary's Springs. With the conference championship on the line, players consistently helped up their opponents after tackles, played extremely hard until the whistle and were respectful at all times to our officiating crew. When Springs only had to use a victory formation to close out the game, Mayville players continued to be respectful to Springs players and many offered their congratulations to the winning team even before the traditional post-game handshake. Mayville head coach Scott Hilber and his coaching staff were continually coaching up their players and offering positive encouragement throughout the contest. Any questions from their coaching staff were done in a collegial manner with our crew. It was truly an honor for our crew to officiate their game, and we can proudly say that their entire team's conduct throughout the contest should be a model for other sports teams in the state to replicate.
