The 2013 State Girls Soccer Tournament concluded Saturday with the crowning of three champions at Uihlein Soccer Park in Milwaukee.

Cedarburg (18-3-1) wins its first girls soccer title with a 4-1 victory over Waukesha West (19-5) in the Division 1 championship final.

The Bulldogs scored the game’s first goal at 5:46 by Kylee Marks with an assist from Taylor Skorik. The Wolverines answered later in the period on a Katie Grall score from Natalie Yass to knot the score at 1-1.

However, Cedarburg scored a pair of unanswered goals to take control of the game prior to the intermission. Josee Stiever dished out the first of her three assists on an Anny West goal at 26:56, and Lydia Koenig scored at the 33:35 to give the Bulldogs a 3-1 lead.

The only scoring of the second half was Koenig’s second goal of the game at 48:17. Goalkeeper Tori Riechers made four saves for the Bulldogs.

Catholic Memorial (23-0-1) wins its second straight Division 2 title with a 3-0 win over Mount Horeb (14-6-1) in the championship final. It’s the second consecutive season the Crusaders have topped the Vikings in the State final.

The Crusaders dominated the game statistically, outshooting the Vikings 19-1. Emily Cervantes provided the only scoring needed with a goal 5:42 into the contest. Kelsey O’Brien added a goal assisted by Carina Krausert before halftime to give Catholic Memorial a 2-0 advantage.

Cervantes scored her second goal of the game off another assist by O’Brien to extend the Crusader lead to 3-0 four minutes into the second period. Cassidy Lentz and Haley Anderson combined for the shutout without having to make a save.

Ozaukee (21-1-2) captured the Division 3 title for the fourth time with a 3-1 win over The Prairie School (15-7-2) in the championship final.

The Warriors surged to a two-goal lead early in the game on a goal by Katie Bares with an assist to Mickey Burns at the 10:41 mark. The pair reversed roles for the Warriors second score less than two minutes later. Burns scored on a pass from Bares to give Ozaukee a 2-0 lead it held at intermission.

The score remained unchanged until 73:33 when Bares added insurance with her second goal. Less than two minutes later, the Hawks got on the board with an Annabel Ware goal at 75:14 to narrow the margin to 3-1, but The Prairie School could get no closer.

It is the fifth time the Hawks have finished runner-up, accounting for each of its appearances in the State Tournament.
