Sportsmanship Plus - Football

Slinger @ Pulaski
Oct. 29, 2021

It has been years since we’ve witnessed this level of sportsmanship. The coaching staffs for these two schools need to be congratulated on this achievement. The players fans atmosphere was exactly what high school sports are meant to be. If you live in either of these cities rest assured your football teams are doing things the right way. Every aspect of our game was class exemplified. Congratulations to all involved. We are officials because of nights like this. Thank you ALL. What a great event we were blessed to be a part of.

Eau Claire North @ Rice Lake
Oct. 14, 2021

The match was very competitive. During play, the floor captain from North came over to talk to me about a back row attack. She was very courteous and respectful as she talked with me. She made eye contact and showed great poise as she talked with me. The coaching staffs from both teams were very respectful as well. I just want to commend both teams. Well done!

Wausaukee @ Three Lakes
Oct. 14, 2021

Our crew would like to showcase two football programs for their outstanding sportsmanship . The fans enjoyed the actions of their team as coaches and players expressed themselves in a positive manner. We have acknowledged Three Lakes in the past, and this proves the tradition of sportsmanship coach Maney expects of his staff and players. Also, we have seen Wausaukee twice this season, and both times, Coach Russ’ players and sidelines were exceptional with their actions. Both coaches are passionate and positive with words and tactics when teaching/coaching the game of football. Their positive actions spread to the players as they played hard, respected officials and opponents, and appreciated the opportunity to play high school sports. Not once did the crew hear a derogatory remark from players as they helped each other off the turf and congratulated each other on fine play.  It was a great game to officiate, and it was an honor to be a part of this football contest. We would like to acknowledge the fans, announcer, score clock operator, and chain crew for their positive spirit and competence. Also, we would like to recognize Athletic Director Charlie Volk for his outstanding communication and professionalism. The communities of Three Lakes and Wausaukee should be proud of their schools and the positive behavior exhibited. Congratulations and our hats off to each school’s football program!

Waukesha West @ Waukesha South
Oct. 8, 2021

In a big rivalry game - Waukesha West @ Waukesha South - the head coach for Waukesha South [Darnell Wiltz] showed excellent sportsmanship throughout the entire game. He never raised his voice, yelled or screamed at any point during the game. When he did have a question, he simply asked it and when given the answer [sometimes an answer he may not have agreed with] he said thank you and went back to coaching. It should also be reported that Waukesha South player #23 [CJ Johnson] showed excellent sportsmanship throughout the entire game. He was always encouraging his teammates, and players from Waukesha West, on good plays. He was a true team leader during the entire game. I thanked #23 towards the end of the game for his outstanding sportsmanship like behavior, and also mentioned it to his Head Coach, Darnell Wiltz. Thank you to Waukesha South Head Coach Darnell Wiltz and #23 CJ Johnson.
