Sportsmanship Plus - Girls Basketball

Menomonee Falls @ Oconto Falls
Nov. 21, 2024

The sportsmanship Oconto Falls demonstrated was of the highest level. They didn't complain about any calls. They would hand us the ball after a  call and their overall demeanor was outstanding. They were losing early in the game and continued to display the highest level of sportsmanship. Their school should be proud of the representation that the coach and the players had. Besides their crowd, it was a good environment to be involved with.

Mayville @ St. Mary’s Springs
Oct. 11, 2024

The Mayville High School football team showed exemplary sportsmanship in its conference showdown at St. Mary's Springs. With the conference championship on the line, players consistently helped up their opponents after tackles, played extremely hard until the whistle and were respectful at all times to our officiating crew. When Springs only had to use a victory formation to close out the game, Mayville players continued to be respectful to Springs players and many offered their congratulations to the winning team even before the traditional post-game handshake. Mayville head coach Scott Hilber and his coaching staff were continually coaching up their players and offering positive encouragement throughout the contest. Any questions from their coaching staff were done in a collegial manner with our crew. It was truly an honor for our crew to officiate their game, and we can proudly say that their entire team's conduct throughout the contest should be a model for other sports teams in the state to replicate.

Kenosha Indian Trail @ Racine Case
Sept. 27, 2024

During a hard fought and emotional game, the left tackle for Indian Trail (#77), was consistently helping up players after the play, making sure they were good, regardless of what team they played for.   He played his heart out during the game, but pretty much every down, he was there helping up players from the pile and giving them pats or just a helping hand. Even near the end of the game with his team trailing, he was still helping people up after plays. It is players like this that need to be recognized for their special efforts in sportsmanship. I don't know if he played defense, but he was definitely a shining star where high school athletics sportsmanship is involved. Huge kudos to #77 for his efforts. It didn't go unnoticed.

Appleton West @ Green Bay Preble
Sept. 27, 2024

Player #78 from Appleton West was a voice of reason within his huddle, encouraging his teammates and getting them to settle down when things weren't going their way. He was obviously a vocal leader of the team and helped us keep things under control

Fort Atkinson @ Kenosha Tremper
Sept. 21, 2024

The Fort Atkinson boys volleyball team showed great sportsmanship. Before semifinal match, Coach Lindsey Hallett, Captain Ben Evans and the entire team came over and gave the officials handshakes. At the end of match, even after their  loss, again they came over and gave us a handshake and thanked us for giving our time to volleyball. Then they also went over to the table and thanked the JV boy and girl doing the table.
