THE TOURNAMENT: The 31st Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association Girls Soccer Championships will take place Thursday-Saturday, June 13-15, at Time Warner Cable Stadium at Uihlein Soccer Park in Milwaukee, Wis. Ticket prices are $8 per session and $1 for children 6-years old or younger. Tickets are available at the venue.
TOURNAMENT INFORMATION: The single-elimination tournament features three divisions. Eight teams will compete for the State title in Division 1, and four teams play for the State crowns in Divisions 2 and 3. Below are the time schedules and pairings.

CHAMPIONSHIP GAMES ON FS WISCONSIN: Watch the delayed broadcasts of the WIAA State Girls Soccer Championship finals on FS Wisconsin. The Division 1 title game will be aired on June 29 at 7 p.m. The Division 2 championship game will be aired on June 29 at 9 p.m. The Division 3 title game is scheduled to be aired on June 22 at 7 p.m. Check local cable listings for the channel in your area.
LAST YEAR: Madison West won the Division 1 championship by edging De Pere 1-0 in the final. In Division 2, Catholic Memorial won the title by blanking Mount Horeb 2-0 in the title game, and the Lake Country Lutheran/University Lake co-op won the Division 3 crown by topping The Prairie School 3-1 in the championship game.
DIVISION 1 NOTES: Last year’s runner-up De Pere will make its fifth appearance, all of which have come in the last eight years. The Redbirds also finished runner-up in 2007. They advance to the State Tournament this year via a 4-3 shootout following a 0-0 tie against Kimberly in the Kaukauna Sectional final. The Redbirds finished in a first-place tie with Sheboygan South for the Fox River Classic Conference title this spring. Neenah is back in the State Tournament field for the second year in a row and for the 15th time overall, which ranks second-most among all schools. The Rockets won the State championship in 1990 and have finished runners-up in 1986, 1989, 2001 and 2002. They advance to the quarterfinals following a 1-0 win over Appleton North in the final of the sectional Neenah hosted. The Rockets were tri-champions in the Fox Valley Association with Appleton North and Kimberly this spring. Brookfield Central is back at State for the 12th time and for the first time since 2009. The Lancers had an impressive run of success from 2001-06, making six consecutive appearances and winning four straight championships from 2002-05. In addition, they finished runner-up in 1992. They are the representatives out of the sectional they hosted with a 2-0 decision over Brookfield East in the final. The Lancers finished fourth in the Greater Metro Conference this spring. Kenosha Tremper returns to the State Tournament for the 10th time and for the third straight season. The Trojans also had a run of six straight appearances from 2001-06. Their deepest run in the tournament was to the semifinal round in 2004 and again last year. They defeated Racine Horlick 2-1 in the Elkhorn Sectional final to gain their berth in the quarterfinals. They are the champions of the Southeast Conference in 2013. Eau Claire Memorial has qualified for State for the eighth time and for the second straight season. The Old Abes compiled four straight appearances from 2005-2008. That run produced a runner-up finish in 2005, which is the closest they’ve come to winning the elusive State title. They are the representatives from the D.C. Everest Sectional, escaping with a 3-2 overtime victory over D.C. Everest in the final. The Old Abes are the co-champions of the Big Rivers Conference with River Falls this year. Waukesha West has qualified for the State Tournament field for the seventh year in a row and for the eighth time overall. The Wolverines’ have finished runner-up twice, the first coming in 2009 and most recently in 2011. They finished fourth in the Classic Eight Conference this year, and they advance to the final eight with a 2-1 win over Kettle Moraine in the sectional final held at Kettle Moraine. Middleton returns to the tournament field for the fourth time and for the first time since 2007. That was the final year of three successive appearances that produced a State title in 2006. The Cardinals gained entry into the State tourney field this season via a 2-0 shootout following a 0-0 tie with Oregon in the final of the Verona Sectional. The Cardinals placed third in the Big 8 Conference standings this season. Cedarburg is also making the school’s fourth appearance in the State Tournament. The Bulldogs’ most recent experience resulted in a runner-up finish in 2004. They also advanced to the title game and finished second in 1994. They advance to the State quarterfinals this year with a 1-0 win over Germantown in the final of the Whitefish Bay Sectional. They finished first in the North Shore Conference standings this year.
DIVISION 2 NOTES: Defending champion Catholic Memorial makes its ninth State appearance overall and its eighth straight. The Crusaders’ impressive streak of success includes five championships and two runner-up finishes over the span of the last nine years, having won championships in 2004, 2006, 2007, 2010 and again last year. They topped Grafton 2-1 in the sectional final they hosted to join the final field of four. They are the champions of the Classic Eight Conference. Mount Horeb finished runner-up in its first-ever appearance in the State Tournament last season. The Vikings return to the State semifinals by virtue of their 3-0 win over Edgewood in the final of the sectional final held at Mount Horeb. They finished second in the North Division of the Badger Conference this season. Xavier returns to the tournament for the 10th time in the last 11 seasons, failing only to qualify in 2009 over that span. The Hawks have won three State championships. They won the Division 3 title in 2004 and Division 2 crowns in 2005 and 2008. This year, they defeated Waupaca in the North Fond du Lac/Oakfield Sectional final, 3-0. The Hawks won the Eastern Valley Conference championship this spring. Ashland edged Notre Dame 1-0 in its sectional final played in Stevens Point to earn its second berth in the State semifinals. The Oredockers only other appearance at State resulted in a loss in the semifinals in 2009. They are the champions of the Northern Lights Conference in 2013.
DIVISION 3 NOTES: Categorically, it will be the first appearance in the State Tournament by the co-op consisting of the Lake Country Lutheran, University Lake School and Trinity. However, the co-op of Lake Country Lutheran/University Lake School won the Division 3 championship in its first-ever experience in the tournament last season. This year, the new co-op of three schools advance to State with a 3-0 win over Lake Mills in the Kettle Moraine Sectional final. The Lightning are the champions of the Midwest Classic Conference this season. St. Mary Central is making its eighth overall appearance at State, which have all come in the last nine seasons. Not qualifying in 2011 snapped a string of seven straight appearances. The Zephyrs won the State championship in 2007 and were runners-up in 2009. This season, they advance to State by downing Regis 3-1 in the Stevens Point Sectional final. They finished second in the Packerland Conference standings this season. Ozaukee is making its sixth appearance in the tournament and its first since 2007, which was the final year of a string of five straight State experiences. The Warriors won the title in 2003 and added back-to-back championships in 2005 and 2006. They earned their return to the final field of four this year by beating Cedar Grove-Belgium 1-0 in the New Holstein Sectional final. The Warriors shared the Central Lakeshore Conference crown with Oostburg this year. The Prairie School will be participating in the State Tournament for the second straight season and for the fifth time overall. The Hawks have been runners-up four times, including 2003, 2004, 2010 and again last year. They defeated Racine St. Catherine’s 3-2 in overtime to claim the University School Sectional title and return to State semifinals. They are the champions of the Metro Classic Conference this spring.
