DIVISION 1 FINAL
The final game of the 2015 State Girls Soccer Tournament was another defensive battle. In the second 10-minute overtime period. it was D.C. Everest's Jordyn Ostrowski putting it in the net in the fourth minute, giving her team the 2015 Division 1 State Girls Soccer championship. D. C. Everest had 11 shots in the game and Kettle Moraine had 9.
DIVISION 2 FINAL
Oregon wins the Division 2 title in their first trip to State by shutting out Green Bay Southwest 3-0. Scoring the first goal for Oregon was Jen Brien on a shot from the endline afer beating the keeper in the box in the 49th minute. The second goal for Oregon is credited to Paitlyn Fleming with the assist going to Emma Krause in the 50th minute. The 3rd and final goal goes to Brien in the 72nd minute. Oregon outshot Green Bay Southwest 12-1.
DIVISION 3 FINAL
Defending champion Catholic Memorial wins again in 2015 by defeating Notre Dame de la Baie 2-1. Memorial received their first goal in the 10th minute from Carly Delforge off a corner kick. Notre Dame answered with their 1st goal in the 28th minute coming from Anna Tristani on a close range blast. The winning goal for Memorial came in the 27th minute from Nicole Piette with the assist going to Jo Rolli. Catholic Memorial had 11 shots and Notre Dame had 8.
DIVISION 4 FINAL
The Division 4 championship game between Aquinas and Lake Country Lutheran/Unversity Lake School was a defensive battle with the winner of the golden ball going to Aquinas after a 3-2 win in a shootout. After 110 minutes of play Aquinas accumulated 5 shots and Lake Country Lutheran/University Lake School had 3.
DIVISION 1 SEMIFINALS
The final game of the day was a thriller between D.C. Everest and Menomonee Falls. D.C. Everest scored the first goal of the game in the 33rd minute by Maddie Mittelsteadt with the assist coming from Jordyn Ostrowski. Menomonee Falls quickly answered with a goal by Maura Schwabenlander, assisted by Maggie Greitenkamp in the 37th minute. In the 75th minute D. C. Everest gets their second goal from Mittlesteadt with the assist again from Ostrowski. D.C. Everest’s Bri Widmer scores their 3rd goal in the 82nd minute, assist coming from Kayla Huber. Menomonee Falls answers with their 2nd goal in the 84th minute from Kylie Sprecher, assisted by Tessa Estock. Greitenkamp ties the game for Menomonee Falls in the 86th minute with the assist coming from Estock. D. C. Everest goes ahead in the 89th minute with a goal from Widmer. D.C. Everest advances to the championship to play Kettle Moraine at approximately 5 p.m. on Saturday.
Division 1 semifinals started with Kettle Moraine advancing in a 1-0 win over Muskego. The goal in the 18th minute for Kettle Moraine is credited to Erin Manion with assists given to Julia Zach and Chase Rehm. Kettle Moraine outshot Muskego 14-3.
DIVISION 2 SEMIFINALS
Game 2 of the Division 2 semifinals has Green Bay Southwest advancing to the finals in a 1-0 win over Rhinelander. Amber Nolle’s goal for Green Bay Southwest came in the 45 minute off a corner kick. Rhinelander outshot Green Bay Southwest 11-7. Green Bay Southwest will play Oregon for the Division 2 championship at 3 p.m. on Saturday.
The second day of the Tournament started with Oregon shutting out Whitefish Bay 4-0. Oregon's first goal came from Jen Brien from 8 yards out in the 21st minute, she also scored the 3rd goal in the 75th minute. Kasey Jahn is credited with the 2nd goal in the 33rd minute. The final goal for Oregon goes to Meagan Brakob in the 82nd minute. assists go to Brakob, Emma Krause, Paitlyn Fleming and Holly Kaboord. Whitefish Bay outshot oregon 14-9.
DIVISION 3 SEMIFINALS
Notre Dame advances to the finals with a 3-1 win over Ashland. Ashland’s Katie St. Germain scored the first goal of the game in the 9th minute. Notre Dame’s goals came from Anna Tristani in the 49th and 43rd minutes and from Grace Shaw in the 85th minute. Notre Dame outshot Ashland 21-3.
Catholic Memorial is the victor of the first semifinal game in the Division 3 bracket with a 4-1 win over Mount Horeb. Scoring for Catholic Memorial is credited to Mo Burke in the 3rd minute, Emily Cervantes in the 21st minute, and Nicole Piette in the 46th and 52nd minutes. Mount Horeb’s score in the 82nd minute came from Shianna Schmit-Colvin. Shots in the game for Catholic Memorial totaled 10 and for Mount Horeb 7.
Notre Dame will play Catholic Memorial for the Division 3 title on Saturday at approximately 12 noon.
DIVISION 4 SEMIFINALS
The first day of the 2015 Girls State Soccer Championships started out with great defensive by both teams. Lake Country Lutheran/University Lake School advances to the final by winning in a shootout 4-3 after 110 minutes of play. Saves for Jennifer Nowak of Brookfield Academy 5 and for Christina Reid of Lake Country Lutheran/University Lake School 4.
In the second game of the Division 4 semifinals, Aquinas advances to the finals by defeating New Holstein 1-0. The lone goal of the game came from Mikaela Schleisinger on a bent corner kick into the net in the 31st minute. Aquinas outshot New Holstein 10-6.
Lake Country Lutheran/University Lake School will play Aquinas for the championship title on Saturday at 10 a.m.
