Winter Team Tournament Sportsmanship Award Winners Named

The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association, in cooperation with Rural Mutual Insurance, has chosen the recipients of the team Sportsmanship Awards for the 2018 winter State Tournaments. The winners of the prestigious sportsmanship recognition are Valders in boys basketball, Marshall in girls basketball, D.C. Everest Co-op in girls hockey, Hudson in gymnastics and Ellsworth in team wrestling.

Appleton North, Beaver Dam, Marshall, Aquinas & Bangor Win Girls Basketball Titles

DIVISION 2

Defending champion and top-seeded Beaver Dam (25-2) won its second straight Division 2 title with a 51-41 win over New Berlin Eisenhower in the championship final Saturday evening in Green Bay, Wis.

DIVISION 3

Top-seeded Marshall (27-1) won the Division 3 championship with a 63-55 win over Amherst in final at the State Girls Basketball Tournament Saturday afternoon.

DIVISION 4

Top seeded Aquinas (28-0) won the battle of undefeated teams by downing second-seeded Melrose-Mindoro 68-52 in the title game to win the Division 4 championship at the State Girls Basketball Tournament in GreenBay, Wis., Saturday.

DIVISION 5

Bangor (26-3) won its second State championship with a 39-29 win over Black Hawk in the Division 5 title game at the State Girls Basketball Tournament at the Resch Center Saturday.



Defending Champion Beaver Dam to Play New Berlin Eisenhower in in DIv. 2 Final

Defending champion and top-seeded Beaver Dam (24-2) advanced to the final of the State Girls Basketball Tournament with a 54-43 victory over Hortonville in the Division 2 semifinals Friday afternoon at the Resch Center in Green Bay, Wis.

Third-seeded New Berlin Eisenhower (24-3) defeated Monroe in the Division 2 semifinals of the State Girls Basketball Tournament Friday afternoon at the Resch Center in Green Bay, Wis.

Black Hawk & Bangor to Meet in Div. 5 Title Tilt

Top-seeded Black Hawk (28-0) remained unbeaten following a 57-31 triumph over Newman Catholic in the Division 5 semifinals at the State Girls Basketball Tournament Friday morning at the Resch Center in Green Bay.

Second-seeded Bangor (25-3) advanced to the championship game in Division 5 with following a 57-54 victory over Clayton in the semifinals Friday.
