Boys and Girls State Hockey Champions Crowned

MADISON, Wis. – Xavier Co-op took home the 2019 State Girls Hockey Tournament title in their first trip to State by defeating Hudson 6-5 in overtime at Veterans Memorial Coliseum Saturday.

NFHS Releases Hockey Rule Changes for 2018-19

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.  — Rules changes related to minimizing risk of injury in high school ice hockey are among five revisions for the 2018-19 season.

The National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) Ice Hockey Rules Committee recommended the changes at its April 23-24 meeting in Indianapolis, and all changes were subsequently approved by the NFHS Board of Directors.

Winter Team Tournament Sportsmanship Award Winners Named

The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association, in cooperation with Rural Mutual Insurance, has chosen the recipients of the team Sportsmanship Awards for the 2018 winter State Tournaments. The winners of the prestigious sportsmanship recognition are Valders in boys basketball, Marshall in girls basketball, D.C. Everest Co-op in girls hockey, Hudson in gymnastics and Ellsworth in team wrestling.
