A pair of team champions retained their crowns at the 2017 State Gymnastics Championships Friday in Wisconsin Rapids.
The Franklin/Muskego/Oak Creek/Whitnall co-op won its second straight Division 1 team gymnastics championship and the program’s eighth title overall. The Franklin co-op scored a team total of 147.8167 to outperform the rest of the competition.
The Kenosha Bradford/Indian Trail/Tremper/Westosha Central co-op placed runner-up for the second year in a row, compiling a team score of 146.8333.
Whitefish Bay claimed the team title in Division 2 for the second consecutive season and for the eighth time in the program’s history. The Blue Dukes tallied a score of 140.7833. River Falls was runner-up for the second straight year, finishing with a team total of 139.4667.
The State Gymnastics Championships resume Saturday with the individual championships at 11:10 a.m. Saturday. Ticket prices for the championships are $6 per session and are available at the door.
