The individual competition in both DIvision 1 and Division 2 has been completed at the 2013 WIAA State Gymnastics Meet in Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. Friday.
Sophomore Bailey Fitzpatrick of Burlington/Badger/Catholic Central/Wilmot repeated as champion in the Division 1 all-around and on the uneven bars with scores of 38.216 and 9.6, respectfully.
Her teammate, sophomore Molly Benavides, won the vault with a score of 9.667 and shared the title in the floor exercise with senior Lauren Zurowski of Franklin/Muskego/Oak Creek/Wilmot with a score of 9.6. Senior Caroline Smith of Madison Memorial captured the balance beam championship with a mark of 9.583.
In Division 2, Riley Claude won both the all-around and the uneven bars for the second straight season, capturing the crowns with scores of 36.767 and 9.553, respectfully. Senior Haley Hentrich of Platteville/Belmont/Lancaster won a pair of events, winning the balance beam with a 9.033 and tying sophomore Lauren Faust of Mount Horeb for the floor exercise crown with a score of 9.25. Senior Emma Madsen of Holmen claimed the championship on the vault with routine scoring 9.4.
