McFarland Wins Second Straight Team Title; Four Records Set

WAUKESHA, Wis. – McFarland won the Division 2 team title, and four records fell at the 2025 Boys Swimming & Diving Championships at the Waukesha South High School Natatorium Friday.

WIAA to Air Boys Basketball & State Individual Wrestling Brackets Shows

STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association will release the 2025 Boys Basketball Tournament Series seeds and pairings and the 2025 State Individual Wrestling Tournament brackets during one-hour live programs on WIAA State Television Network stations Sunday, Feb. 23.

Task Force Modifies 11-Player Football & Lacrosse Realignment Plans

STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association Conference Realignment Task Force convened Thursday to hear appeals of the previously modified solutions and finalize plans for 11-player football and lacrosse conference realignment. 

Shafranski Retires; Whitford to Join WIAA as Interim Assistant Director

STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association has named Tim Whitford as interim assistant director on the executive staff beginning Monday, Feb. 10 following the retirement of Tom Shafranski today. Whitford will serve in the position until Shafranski’s successor joins the staff this summer.

Board Approves Football Qualifying & Seeding Changes and Other Fall Sports Changes

STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association Board of Control approved recommendations by the fall coaches’ advisory committees, including a plan that replaces the 11-player and 8-player football playoff qualifying and seeding system, at its February meeting today.

NFHS 2025-26 Volleyball Rule Changes

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Multiple contacts by one player attempting to play the ball will now be allowed on second contact if the next contact is by a teammate on the same side of the net. This elimination of a judgment call by officials highlights the 2025-26 high school volleyball rules changes.
